Sheraton Molokai Lodge and Beach Village. Spanning 54,000
acres on remote Molokai Island, this luxury adventure resort offers
privacy, peace, and a wealth of activities. Guests can sleep on
the beach in a village of two-bedroom canvas bungalows or choose an
upscale room in the two-story lodge. Shuttles run from lodge to the
beach and various activity centers, which offer sports from
spearfishing to horseback riding. On this ranch once owned by a
Hawaiian chief, the resort makes an effort to preserve the local
history, culture, and natural environment.
Rooms

Encompassing 54,000
acres, this adventure resort offers two types of accommodations: 22
spacious lodge rooms and 40 canvas-sided bungalow units mounted on
small platforms. Measuring 400 square feet, each lodge room includes
a large lanai, living room, and bathroom with separate shower and
soaking tub. Lodge rooms also have wet bars, refrigerators, robes
and slippers, and direct-dial phones with high-speed Internet
access. The bungalows dot the green lawns by the beach and feature
two bedrooms and hammocks. These solar-powered units include ceiling
fans, refrigerators, outdoor picnic areas, and bathrooms with
separate showers.

Room - Located in the Molokai Lodge, this dining room serves
breakfast and dinner, and is noted for its Molokai regional cuisine.
With a menu featuring fresh fish, steaks, and salads, the Dining
Room offers a variety of dishes with an island twist, and also
features a romantic ambience and spectacular views.
Paniolo Lounge
- Amid great views, the lounge at the Molokai Lodge serves
sandwiches and pupus (appetizers) in a
cowboy-and-plantation-inspired decor.
Kaupoa Beach
Village - Guests staying at the Beach Village enjoy breakfast,
lunch, and dinner in an open-air dining pavilion. Meals are cooked
to order and include omelets, barbecued hamburgers, and grilled fish
and steak.

Recreation
The Sheraton Molokai
Lodge and Beach Village offers a wealth of recreational activities
on its 54,000 acres. Activities include everything from horseback
riding to mountain biking, cultural hikes to archery, snorkeling to
paintball, and sports shooting to stargazing. Guests can learn to
spearfish, string a lei, and bike on a hillside under the stars. Or
they can just relax by the pool or the beach and schedule a massage.
The resort rents out snorkels, beach chairs, and other sundries as
well. There are several different activities centers on the
property, and shuttle service between them, the Lodge, and the Beach
Village is covered by the resort fee.

Airport (MKK): Approximate driving time is 30 minutes and
distance is 15 miles.
Driving
directions from Molokai Hoolehua Airport: Follow signs to SR 460
and turn right to head west on 460 (Mauna Loa Hwy). Continue for
about 15 miles, and the hotel is on the right.
Getting there:
Taxis are available to the hotel from both the airport and the ferry
($26–35; fees subject to change without notice). A rental car is
another good option.
Getting around:
The hotel shuttle can take guests back and forth between the lodge
and the beach village, and the cost is included in the daily resort
fee. For offsite destinations, a rental car is the best option.

Property Amenities
The Sheraton Molokai
Lodge and Beach Village covers 54,000 acres on Molokai and was
originally owned by the chief Kapuaiwa, who later became King
Kamehameha V. After its first life as the setting for royal visits
and a second incarnation as a cattle and pineapple farm, the Molokai
Ranch was sold in 1986 and transformed into its current state as a
rustic yet upscale resort. With its rich history, isolated location,
and two different lodging options, the resort offers a one-of-a-kind
experience. The Beach Village sits right on the beach, while the
Lodge is 8 miles inland. Shuttle service runs all day between the
Lodge, the Beach Village, and the various activity sites on the
property.
The Lodge has a
heated outdoor pool, a fitness center, and a spa with a massage and
therapy room. Guests can also relax in the Lodge’s billiards room
and library. (Some amenities listed below are at the Lodge, but are
available to all guests.) The Beach Village is located on a
golden-sand beach and also has a lawn with horseshoes and croquet.
All guests at either lodging location have access to a wealth of
recreational activities, such as snorkeling, horseback riding,
mountain biking, archery, fishing, kayaking, and much more.
A daily $10 (plus
tax) resort fee per room includes unlimited use of the on-property
shuttle service between the Lodge, Kaupoa Beach Village, and various
activity sites (from 7 AM to 9 PM); shower and locker facilities for
guests with early arrivals and late departures; use of the fitness
room, Lodge pool, and sauna; use of safe-deposit boxes for all
guests and in-room safes for Lodge guests; daily New York Times
fax; use of Internet access stations; and faxing and copying
services. Fee is subject to change. Self parking:
$5-15 per 24-hour period. Outside lot with in/out privileges.
